How long have you been at P&G for: 6 years

If you had to describe what working at P&G is like in three words what would they be?

  • Ownership
  • Challenging
  • Enjoyable

Why did you apply to P&G?

I always wanted to work at one of the world's most admired and successful companies and P&G was at the top of every list. The unique “promote from within” ethos is also something that really resonated with me. At the time, I was also aware of P&G's recognition worldwide for its best in class approach to nurturing talent.

What do you do in your role on a day to day basis?

I am responsible for understanding key business drivers and trends, identifying category growth opportunities and in turn guiding the wider customer teams. This is to enable flawless execution of sustainable plans that will ultimately help deliver shareholder return.

What has your training and development been like during your time with P&G?

P&G offers a prolific training programme. I go on a number of trainings now just as I did when I started, maybe even more. If you feel you need to strengthen a particular skillset or even just refresh yourself, you simply just have to make a request.

How is the work environment/culture at P&G?

It’s great to work amongst motivated, like-minded people that help bring out the best in me. The culture at P&G really suits my style – relaxed and informal but with a relentless passion to win and to never give up. The social aspect is great - how many firms hold their own world cup football tournament each year in a different host country?

How have you been challenged at P&G?

I have taken on more complex businesses and roles as I have progressed through the company, previous firms I’ve worked at did not offer the same level of ownership. My peers challenge my thinking daily and it’s refreshing to be able to have constructive business discussions.

I’ve also had the privilege of working in Research & Development and am currently in the Sales function - cross functional and international assignments are all possibilities if that’s what you are after which is what I love about working here.

What advice would you give to somebody considering applying to P&G?

Get a sense of what motivates you. I started my career in R&D but quickly realised my motivation was business acumen, external exposure and strategic thinking. A P&G career in sales gives you the opportunity to work with amazing people, the biggest brands and the best retailers and of course does wonders for your CV.
